NYFW Designer Review: Temperley London

Held in the MILK & MAC collaborated Studios (only for Fashion Week),Temperley London showcased their Spring/Summer 2010 collection, incorporating various elements from era's like the 20's & 30's with a touch of CirqueDu Soleil.
The theme exuded originality and unique characteristics with subtle yet feminine accents.Walking into the venue an array of upbeat selection of circus like arrangements played throughout the room. The mannequins were dressed in multitude of bold colors, shapes, patterns, and prints.
Within this collection Temperley London has given fashionistas a range of wearable styles to choose from combining detailed statement making garments with a touch of glamour, to every day pieces. The use of color in this collection is infectious raspberry, violet, fuchsia, and lemon yellow, of course with the traditional pieces in black and white. In person the garments are far more exquisite, wearable works of art.

Fashion Innovator : Marc by Marc Jacobs 2010

Fashion innovator Marc Jacobs has done it again! His Spring/Summer 2010 collection has many people wanting more. Plaids, Polka dots and other carefree prints were debuted at the Marc by Marc Jacobs Fashion Show. I love his use of a bold array of colors, and statement making patterns.

Fly Femme Interview : Ramlah Boadi from Steve Madden

Today's Fly Femme Ramlah Boadi is a hard working fashionista, with an infectious personality and a keen fashion sense. She knows that its not all about the name you wear but how you wear it, mastering the art of mixing high and low name brands. Not at all afraid to take risks....

1. How would you describe your personal style?

I love to mix high, low and vintage fashion and accessories to achieve an eclectic urban vintage look.

2. What sparked you love or interest in fashion?

I have always been in love with fashion because I always felt that fashion does not always mean that, you have to wear what the others wear. It’s about thinking, I will make the world wear what I wear? The world is your runway so put an imprint on it.

3. What are some of your plans professionally for the rest 09'?

With God’s strength and endurance, I would love to get more into fashion show production, celebrity PR, and events….maybe styling. Sky’s the limit for me

4. What makes you a Fly Femme ?

I am a risk-taker, being able not to conform to the rules and doing it with class.

simply ADORABLE.

Kids’ wear has come such a long way in the last 5-8 years. Once upon a time, it was hand-me-downs from your older brothers and sisters. These days, any brand worth its weight in fashion gold, will have a diffusion range of kids’ wear offering the same grown-up aesthetic for young fashionistas and their stylish parents.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s range is such an example. Kids’ wear is a competitive market, but with style running through the Parisian’s veins, JPG is spot on with the modern and age-appropriate collection. It’s got the right amount of fashionability, bold shapes and distinct tailoring of JPG’s adult range but with a sense of fun and wearability more suited to kids.

VMA 2009 the creme de la creme

The VMA's this year has by far been one of the most entertaining shows thus far, probably for the wrong reasons. Nor do I know why everyone is so shocked by Kanye's random outburst. However I don't have time to recap the entire show but I will give you my favorites from last night.:)

Lady Love

So I got a ton of pictures in an email from LeToya's album release party. I must say I'am feeling the lil swag she got going. She's definitely on the come up, trying to take the shine away from Queen B. The few tracks I have heard from the album are really good, relatable, with lots of energy . Her second single "she aint got" gets me a lil hype, (its that boss bitch syndrome)

Luckett's look for the evening was glamorous yet very simple and chic. Paring her sequined frock with nude heels. I am not too sure how I feel about the make up but she will get a pass this time.

Want to steal Miss Luckett's dress search no further Nordstrom's. got it!

Rebecca Minkoff Fall 09

Fall 09 is rapidly approaching. Truthfully I am a little tired of the weather this summer in NYC, from extreme heat waves to endless amounts of rain. Rebecca Minkoff's fall 09 collection gives me something to look forward to this fall. With structured and simple pieces. From bolero jackets, & boyfriend jackets and stable pieces like the little black dress. Check out the website.

Bootie, Bootie, Bootie!

Guys love them, and girls would do nearly anything to have them. They make females look and feel sexy. They accentuate the female body shape and accessorize a lady's outfit perfectly. They are the next best thing to a girl's best friend. What am I talking about? BOOTIES! I'm sure a pair of pumps, sandals, or flats could make a girl have a shoegasm, but booties have a certain touch to them that just make a shoe that much more fun to wear.

Personally, I'm not a fan of wearing high heels but I definitely love shoes. I love the art of the shoe, the construction, the detailing, just the textiles in general. I was looking at a particular designer's Fall/Winter Collection for 2009 and thought that I should share the goods. Here are some booties from designer
Sergio Rossi. Enjoy!

Purple Suede Booties

Dark Red Sued Boot w/Multicolor Trim (not a bootie, but still hot!)

Brown Leather Peep Toe Booties

Purple Eel Peep Toe Booties

Blue Suede Booties

Brown Leather Booties with Laces

Grey Laser Cut Suede Booties

Another pair of...Blue Suede Booties

Okay so these aren't booties, but I think they're hot! Black Patent Leather Peep Toe Heels

Olive Laser Cut Booties

That's all folks! Let me know which pair you like the most. My favorites are the Olive Laser Cut Booties and the Purple Eel Peep Toe Booties.
