I'm liking her style

I must say I am loving solange's ensemble, I am drooling over her Chanel earrings and Giambattista Valli shoes perfect pop of color. What do you think of Solo's style. P.S the hair cut is growing on me.

Lady Love

So I got a ton of pictures in an email from LeToya's album release party. I must say I'am feeling the lil swag she got going. She's definitely on the come up, trying to take the shine away from Queen B. The few tracks I have heard from the album are really good, relatable, with lots of energy . Her second single "she aint got" gets me a lil hype, (its that boss bitch syndrome)

Luckett's look for the evening was glamorous yet very simple and chic. Paring her sequined frock with nude heels. I am not too sure how I feel about the make up but she will get a pass this time.

Want to steal Miss Luckett's dress search no further Nordstrom's. got it!

R.I.P. DJ AM

Adam Goldstein, known as DJ AM, has passed away today at the age of 36 in his NYC apartment. You may know him from the band Crazytown (they had a hit called "Butterfly", one of my favorite songs), you may know him as Nicole Richie's ex-fiance, you may know him for his great skills (which you should), or you may just know him from the news about last year's plane crash that involved Travis Barker (from Blink 182). DJ AM and Travis Barker were the only two survivors from the plane crash in South Carolina while the others, Charles "Che" Still, Chris Baker, the Pilot Sarah Lemmon and the Co-Pilot James Bland did not make it. It's really honestly crazy how many great people we have lost this year. Like Miss Info retweeted today ,

@Missinfo RT@AndreasHale People die everyday. However, 4 our gen this has been a summer
where our heroes, peers, friends n more crossed over. Sad.

Its just extremely sad. And now on to something that's been on my mind since I heard about DJ AM's passing on Twitter, is it really true? Is Final Destination on to something? Can we really not escape death? It's such a morbid and depressing question, but I know I am not the only one thinking it, so I will ask for everyone who is afraid to ask. What do you guys think?

R.I.P. DJ AM

You will forever be missed & remembered.

Rebecca Minkoff Fall 09

Fall 09 is rapidly approaching. Truthfully I am a little tired of the weather this summer in NYC, from extreme heat waves to endless amounts of rain. Rebecca Minkoff's fall 09 collection gives me something to look forward to this fall. With structured and simple pieces. From bolero jackets, & boyfriend jackets and stable pieces like the little black dress. Check out the website.

5 Ways To Build A Wonderful Life

1. Live Below Your Means

There will always be temptation to forsake the future for immediate gratification. We all want to buy that new piece of technology, treat ourselves to an expensive night on the town, or take out a loan for the flashy car we can’t afford. It might feel great at the time but rash spending hurts a lot later on.

Enjoy life’s simple pleasures and save as much as you can. Expensive things don’t create lasting happiness and security. Careful spending will bring you greater leisure and enjoyment in the long run.

2. Put Your Money to Work

Saving is great, but to make the most of your money you need to put it to work. Good investments can be the difference between retiring in your 40’s or in your 60’s.

A post today at The Simple Dollar really got me thinking. According to Trent’s projections, if a person in their early 20’s invests 20% of their income in an S&P index fund, the interest they earn will equal their current salary when they reach their early 40’s. They could retire without a drop in income!

Wise investing is the surest path to financial independence and it’s something everyone can work on. It’s definitely an area I’ll be devoting more attention to in my personal life and on this blog.

3. Educate Yourself

To be happy we need continuous growth. The best way to grow is life long education. This doesn’t mean you need to pursue a doctorate or spend 2 hours reading every day. Self education can be anything that takes you out of your comfort zone. The important part is keeping an open mind and searching for fresh ideas and perspectives.

Education builds over time. It might feel like the bits of wisdom you acquire don’t mean much, but over the years they add up to form a wiser, kinder, more interesting person.

4. Develop Lasting Personal Relationships

Suppose you had everything you wanted. Would you be happy without anyone to share it with? The personal relationships we develop with friends and family members are the greatest source of happiness in our lives. Don’t forget about them.

Taking the time to cultivate and enjoy personal relationships is essential to long term happiness. Without the people you care about you’ll probably be miserable, no matter how successful you become.

5. Work Towards a Dream You’re Passionate About

Even if your life isn’t perfect, you can always build towards a goal you’re passionate about. If you aren’t building towards something, you’re probably stagnating. When this happens to me I start to feel like a victim trapped by my own life. The best way to reverse this is working towards a goal.

We can’t control everything about our lives, but working towards a goal gives us something positive to focus on and lays the foundation for future success. No matter what your passion is, get out there and start doing something. As Lao Tzu said, even a journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step.

With that said, these five things, I'm sure we would all live a fabulous life. There's so much to live for and a lot of times people miss out because they're too focused on spending their money on things they don't need instead of saving. We burn bridges over the smallest things instead of trying to make valuable relationships work out. We often do things that make other people happy instead of ourselves. Follow these things and your life will be that much closer to being wonderful!

Year of the Gentleman

There is a certain comfort ,ease, and sexiness to a woman who can wear men's clothing, whilst still creating a feminine and seductive silhouette. In midst of the growing trend of "boyfriend" blazers & cardigans, and oxford shoes are being added as essential elements to a wardrobe. The ability to mix and match not being placed in a pigeon hole regarding gender specific roles in fashion is fun and inventive. A woman who can manipulate the lucidity of the fabric creating her own look and shape continuing to be effortlessly stylish. Its always chic in my book.

Bootie, Bootie, Bootie!

Guys love them, and girls would do nearly anything to have them. They make females look and feel sexy. They accentuate the female body shape and accessorize a lady's outfit perfectly. They are the next best thing to a girl's best friend. What am I talking about? BOOTIES! I'm sure a pair of pumps, sandals, or flats could make a girl have a shoegasm, but booties have a certain touch to them that just make a shoe that much more fun to wear.

Personally, I'm not a fan of wearing high heels but I definitely love shoes. I love the art of the shoe, the construction, the detailing, just the textiles in general. I was looking at a particular designer's Fall/Winter Collection for 2009 and thought that I should share the goods. Here are some booties from designer
Sergio Rossi. Enjoy!

Purple Suede Booties

Dark Red Sued Boot w/Multicolor Trim (not a bootie, but still hot!)

Brown Leather Peep Toe Booties

Purple Eel Peep Toe Booties

Blue Suede Booties

Brown Leather Booties with Laces

Grey Laser Cut Suede Booties

Another pair of...Blue Suede Booties

Okay so these aren't booties, but I think they're hot! Black Patent Leather Peep Toe Heels

Olive Laser Cut Booties

That's all folks! Let me know which pair you like the most. My favorites are the Olive Laser Cut Booties and the Purple Eel Peep Toe Booties.

The Boys of Fall

After a very uncertain summer, and the winding down of August (sigh), we can safely say that fall is definitely upon us. Fall brings us a new school year, the fashion collections and editorials we are dying to see, and of course new music! Here are some new albums to be released in the not too distant autumn months by some our favorite Femme Royale-worthy male artists.

Trey Songz "Ready"

Trey Songz

Ohhhh Trey! Our fave man candy will be releasing his 3rd studio album "Ready" on 9.1.09 on the heels of his "Anticipation" mixtape release. To celebrate his album release, he will be performing live in concert at New York's Highline Ballroom on the evening of 9.1.09. You can purchase your tickets here if you have not already. Get READY! (no pun intended)

Kid Cudi "Man on the Moon: The End of Day"

He is featured as the "Breakout Rising Icon".

Ryan Leslie "Transition"

Known for his heavy synth-production and catching melodies, "Transition" is looking to be an instant hit. "You're Not My Girl", the first single off the album is a smooth, head-bopping, r&b/dance track that can get the party grooving. Along with Kid Cudi, he will also be featured on BET's Rising Icons series. Tune into his performance on 10.26.09 where he will be featured as the "Suave Rising Icon".

GIVENCHY FALL 2009

I love playing with make-up, all the different colors and shades. Givenchy's Les Poetiques Collection color palette is mixed with vivid yet subtle pinks, beiges and gold's. I love the fact that the collection is very light hearted after a summer filled with bright bold colors. I love the subtle romance of the collection, the perfect compliment of mattes and metallics, sealed with an elegant soft glossy lip. A definite must have for the Fall
